Board Cans Bullying Bankbridge Teacher

Bankbridge teacher Steven Roth is out of a job, and possibly out of the teaching profession, after the Gloucester County school board voted to fire him Monday night, as reported by NBC10.
Roth, who was caught on tape last month berating student Julio Artuz, has 120 days to appeal the decision, and could lose his New Jersey teacher's certification.
Roth's three-minute rant against Artuz included threats to beat up the teen, as well as belittling remarks and a number of obscenities.
Bankbridge is the county's public special education high school, which draws from around the area. West Deptford sends nine students to the North and South campuses, at a cost of just under $300,000, according to the most recent out-of-district placements approved by the school board.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm not the first one to stick up for bad teachers, but based on conversations that I've had with people who know more about the situation than I do, I think this teacher is getting the short end of the stick and there is a lot more to this story than we are hearing publicly.

Regardless of the details, Mr. Roth was the professional - the grown up - his actions were completely unacceptable.
