A fully booked week of meetings for West Deptford Township got a little lighter this afternoon.

The first scheduled meeting of 2013 for West Deptford's Committee on the Disabled, set for Tuesday evening, has been canceled.

A public notice of the notification was posted by West Deptford Township on Tuesday afternoon. A lack of quorum is cited as the reason for the cancellation. The next meeting will be held on its regularly scheduled date of Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. at the RiverWinds Community Center. February's meeting will now mark the official start of the new term for the committee, though there are no newcomers in 2013.

There were originally four meetings scheduled in the township this week. Last night's Emergency Services Coordinating Council meeting had a lot of activity and discussion about improving the township's emergency communication services.

On Wednesday night, the Recreation Advisory Committee will meet for the first time in 2013 at 7 p.m at the West Deptford Municipal Building. The Township Committee work session will be held on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
