Field of Dreams Shutting Down, Work Begins This Week

The project aims to revitalize the 16-year-old playground.

Field of Dreams will shut down for the next two weeks Monday morning, as work begins this week to .

Weather permitting, volunteer workers will start the process, taking down the hand-painted signs for restoration and temporarily removing some of the equipment as they get set for power washing and re-staining and painting during the week.

Major work is set for the weekend, according to a plan by the township, with volunteers from and  set to stain the bulk of the wooden playground.

“We’re going to bring the playground back to its original state,” committeewoman Denice DiCarlo said earlier this month.

More specialized work, including rubberizing the concrete inside the park, as well as work on the gazebo roof, is planned for next week, with the park planned to reopen on May 5.
