Freeholders Honor WDHS Marching Band

The freeholder board recognized the band at Wednesday's meeting for their second straight ACC title.

West Deptford’s marching band added to its accolades last week, as the Gloucester County freeholders honored the 77-member unit was for winning a second straight Group 3 Atlantic Coast Championship (ACC) title.

The freeholders recognized the band before the start of their meeting Wednesday, lauding the members for their hard work and success.

“It takes a lot of dedication for these young people…to do well, to excel,” freeholder Heather Simmons said. “These young men and young women have given a lot of their time…a lot of themselves to this.”

Besides the ACC championship, the band also won its sixth straight chapter title and went wire-to-wire through the season, winning every competition they entered.

Congraultations!! It is so inspiring to see such a great group of students honored not only for their talent, but for their winning performances.
You are looking at students who will be our future leaders. Thanks for taking the time to recognize them. Well done.
