What is leadership if you don't get your way...for example with the debate?
I went to Riverwinds Friday night. Hansen and his moderator were present. Hansen answered many questions from the audience. Mrs. DiCarlo failed to show up. As her colleague above says people come first, then why did she put her debate requests first and not the people who wanted to hear her answers from the audience. I have served under several military leaders when things did not go their way. They showed up and did not turn away. Their concern was for the people/soldiers under his command. That is leadership. DiCarlo is no leader in my opinion. AND I guess if you advertise your campaign on Patch, you can determine the Patch reporter not to show Friday night. The Times reporter sat in the back of the room.

A very glowing letter indeed. There is no doubt in my mind after watching how Denise DiCarlo conducts herself for the last nine months on the committee that she is quite capable of hitting the ground running and thinks fast on her feet. In this letter from her employer she is being touted as a leader. Her position on the committee is that of a team player. We already have a leader and that is the Mayor. What we really need now is for everyone to work together smoothly as team players. What may well work at Comcast does not work well in West Deptford politics. Unfortunately for DiCarlo, she's carrying too much "Political Baggage". The mere fact of just being mentioned in the same sentence with Gerry White or the "Others" spells political suicide for DiCarlo. You've see how the editorial rebuttals start flowing whenever anything political is posted on the Patch. Unfortunately that's the case here in West Deptford. Jeff Hanson seems to be more balanced in how he deals with individuals and he is not bought and paid for. I feel he will do well as a Committee person.

Let me start off by saying that I'm an independent and up until a week ago I was still unsure who I was going to vote for. After being inundated though with all the negative mailings from Mr. Hansen though there is no way I'm voting for him. I'm not sure why he went that route. From reading all of the information on him he seems like a nice guy with some good ideas. Why not just run on those ideas? If I voted for him is his campaign an indication of how he would act if elected? If someone presented a different idea that he didn't agree with would he resort to the same negativity instead of working to find a compromise or a middle ground? I'm not willing to take that chance so I'm going to have to vote for Ms. DiCarlo. I hope the Republicans and Democrats can work together to make West Deptford an even better place to live.

I am flabbergasted to say the least. PATCH where is your late breaking story Friday afternoon to say the debate appears not to be on. You certainly have breaking stories when a goal is scored or a cat is in a tree on Lockesly Lane. Your absolute news about the debate was Friday morning telling us there may not be a debate.

No news after, no news since. You didn't even report that folks showed up last Friday night. The only news of that is in the commentary following this and maybe another story.
