What was an alleged incident of shoplifting nets a Mantua man drugs and weapons charges, too.

An alleged shoplifter who hit Kohl’s just before Christmas was carrying a knife and drugs when he fought with store security officers who tried to stop him, Cherry Hill Police said.

Carlos W. Maldonado, of the 1300 block of Tristram Circle in Mantua, ended up with a slew of charges following the Dec. 21 incident, which police said involved just $64 worth of merchandise from the store.

Cherry Hill Police arrested Maldonado just after 7 p.m., after they said he assaulted several members of store security while attempting to flee the store. Maldonado was carrying the knife and drugs, as well as drug paraphernalia, police said.

Maldonado was charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, possession of narcotics and related charges.
