Prosecutors Offer Details Surrounding Arrest in Thirza Sweeten's Murder
The announcement comes after a three-month investigation into the elderly Paulsboro resident's killing.
A Paulsboro man has been charged in Gloucester County's first murder of 2012, following a three-month investigation, county Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton announced Friday afternoon.
Samuel Kevin Davis, who was the person of interest police identified just days after the slaying of 79-year-old Thirza Sweeten, has been charged with murder and weapons offenses.
Sweeten was found dead in her gray bungalow at the corner of South Delaware and Jessup streets in Paulsboro on March 19, after her daughter came to the home to check on her.
Davis, 43, was arrested after lab results on forensic evidence linking him to the crime came back Wednesday, Dalton said.
