Two Men Arrested After Burglarizing a Thorofare Home
Thomas Murdock and Wilson Bunton were arrested after admitting to breaking into a home on S. Union Ave.
Two men were arrested Tuesday, Sept. 25 after police say the men admitted to stealing jewelry and electronics from a S. Union Ave. home in Thorofare, last week.
Police Chief Craig Mangano said that Thomas Murdock, 24, of West Deptford and Wilson Bunton, 24, of West Deptford broke into the house sometime between Sept. 17 and Sept. 22. The pair forced their way inside of the home, after breaking into the rear entrance.
Once inside, the men ransacked the home and made off with a 50-inch Samsung television, a laptop, gold jewelry, pearls and rare coins.
Through an investigation and information from an anonymous source, the suspects were identified and brought in for questioning on Sept. 20. During questioning both men admitted to breaking in to the house and that they had sold the electronics on the black market in Camden and sold the jewelry to a shop in Williamstown.
The jewelry was recovered; however, none of the electronics have been returned.
Bunton has been charged on summons on burglary and theft, while Murdock has been charged by warrant on burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Murdock’s bail was set to $10,000, with the option to pay 10 percent. He has since posted bail and is awaiting trial.
