WDHS Inducts 101 Into National Honor Society

From A to Z, find out who made the cut as the newest members of West Deptford High School's National Honor Society.

On Monday evening, West Deptford High School held its annual National Honor Society induction ceremony in the school auditorium.

This year, there were 101 new inductees into the group. All of the students walked in together and had their names read individually as well.

Also speaking the ceremony was West Deptford Schools Superintendent Kevin Kitchenman, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Kristin O'Neill and West Deptford High School Principal Brian Gismondi. West Deptford High School also honored Julia Holloway as the school's Special Education Teacher of the Year for 2011-12.

I believe it's more like 225 in each class at WDHS. Remember this list includes juniors and seniors.

That also means that each student met the grade qualifications to do so. Every family and child should be proud of their accomplishments.

For a child to qualify they need to meet these requirements:

For NHS, membership is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have attended the school for the equivalent of one semester (or as accepted by the local Faculty Council per powers granted in Article IX, Section 1) and who have a cumulative scholastic average of 85 percent, B, 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), or the equivalent standard of excellence.

On the list of NHS names, it's Rachel Lynn Hesser. She is listed as Lynn Hesser. Thanks!
