The West Deptford Marching Eagles set a record for their opening week performance, scoring 84.4 at Triton Saturday.

The West Deptford High School Marching Eagles opened their season with a bang Saturday night at Triton, posting a record score for their first competition of the season.
Their 84.4 topped their previous record high of 82.6, which the band scored in 2010 and 2008.
With that score, West Deptford is ranked tops in both New Jersey and in the overall Atlantic Coast standings for Group 3 Open in Tournament of Bands.
West Deptford won Group 3 at Triton, but also topped all other bands in the field in individual music performance.
The Marching Eagles next head to Collingswood Saturday, where 10 bands will compete beginning at 6:30 p.m.
