West Deptford Police Promote Five from Within
Two new sergeants and three corporals were named Thursday night.
Five West Deptford police officers were promoted Thursday night, as the township's police department continued the process of filling positions left vacant by recent retirements.
Cpl. John Chambers and Detective Cpl. Michael Cramer were each elevated to sergeant, and Ptl. James Loomis, Ptl. Kevin Donahue and Investigator Richard Henry were all promoted to corporal.
The retirements have left the police department down five officers, Chief Craig Mangano said, and there isn't a firm timeline on when the department may be back up to its full complement of 41 officers.
The five officers join new Lt. Sean McKenna and new Deupty Chief Samuel DiSimone among the department's promotions so far this year.

These are fine outstanding men with exceptional families doing a thankless job for the West Deptford residents. The promotions are well deserved.

All I have to say is this police department is not as honorable as they would like everyone to believe. It's a big facade. And it's carried on from one generation to the next generation. They lie and break the law like most common citizens...i know the truth hurts but the truth is the truth period!

I would like to thank the very kind officer who stopped to check on my daughters and I when we were broken down on Hessian Ave. Saturday night (7-28-2012). I voiced my concern about being nervous since I was parked in the shoulder and it was not a very brightly lit area. He went out of his way to put flares behind my car to alert oncoming traffic. Again, thank you for making s feel a little safer in a nerve-wracking situation.
