The West Deptford softball team picked right up where it left off after a perfect week last week, rallying from an early deficit to beat Overbrook Monday, 8-2. Marissa Linquist got the win on the mound, and the bats came back to life after a tough outing against Audubon that closed out last week. Summer Wenzel doubled, Danielle McKeown tripled and Katie Boyd smashed a home run in the win.
The Eagles got their second win of the season in a big way, sweeping their way to a 5-0 win over Audubon on the road Monday, just five days after eking out their first win of the season, 3-2 over Overbrook.
The Eagles got a 39 from Kevin Brockway to lead the way in a 173-216 drubbing of Sterling at RiverWinds Monday. The home-course advantage continued, with Sterling’s top player, Nick Hoffman, only able to card a 47 on the difficult links course.
Paige Paratore and Rachel Krott were the only West Deptford players able to muster up any goals, as the Eagles scored just twice in the second half on the way to a 9-7 loss to Collingswood.
Nick Reardon returned from a preseason injury, as the Eagles knocked off Holy Cross, 12-6. Reardon, who scored a goal in the win, is now just two shy of 100 for his career.
