West Deptford Tied for Lead in Football Power Points

After Saturday's big win against Haddon Heights, West Deptford gained 17 additional power points, putting them in a tie for first in South Jersey Group 2.

Saturday's tight win over Haddon Heights gave West Deptford football a huge boost in this week's Group 2 power points.

After receiving minimal points for defeating Lindenwold and Woodbury, West Deptford doubled their power point total from 17 to 34 after their 36-28 win at Haddon Heights. The jump in points enabled West Deptford to leapfrog their way into a tie with Cedar Creek atop the South Jersey Group 2 standings. A pair of Cape-Atlantic teams, Cedar Creek and Buena, are the only other South Jersey Group 2 teams that remain unbeaten along with West Deptford.

Sterling, after its first loss over the weekend to Haddonfield, dropped one spot to fourth in the rankings. Haddon Heights also fell one spot to sixth, while Haddonfield gained a spot, moving from eighth to seventh.

Group 2 power points through Sept. 23:

  • Cedar Creek (3-0)—34
  • West Deptford (3-0)—34
  • Buena (3-0)—31
  • Sterling (2-1)—24
  • Cinnaminson (2-1)—23
  • Haddon Heights (2-1)—22
  • Haddonfield (2-1)—22
  • Woodstown (2-1)—22
  • Collingswood (1-2)—12
  • Middle Township (1-2)—11
  • Overbrook (1-2)—8
