West Deptford Truck Driver Crashes, Shuts Down 295 Interchange
State police said Patrick Pine lost control of his truck while exiting the interstate Wednesday morning.
A West Deptford truck driver lost control of a load while exiting Route 295, leading to a crash and the closure of Interchange 11 in Logan Township for several hours Wednesday morning, state police said.
Patrick Pine, 59, was driving a load of scrap auto parts when he lost control a little after 9 a.m., overturning his tractor-trailer as he tried to exit on to eastbound Route 322, according to state police.
The crash left parts strewn across the exit ramp and into one of the lanes of Route 322.
Pine’s truck also had damage to its fuel tanks, resulting in a diesel fuel spill that exacerbated the cleanup, which state police said ended up taking about four hours.
Pine was hurt in the crash, and state police said he transported to Crozer-Chester Hospital for treatment of a shoulder injury.
State police said excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
