Judge Rules Against Obama Objectors

An effort to have President Barack Obama's name removed from New Jersey's primary ballot was dealt a setback following an administrative judge's recent ruling.

In what attorney Mario Apuzzo is calling a "sham of justice," a state judge has ruled against objectors seeking to remove President Barack Obama's name from New Jersey's upcoming primary ballot . According to Apuzzo, the attorney representing New Jersey residents Nick Purpura and Ted Moran, Deputy Director and Administrative Law Judge Jeff Masin ruled against the ballot challenge following a more than three-hour hearing earlier this week. His decision, delivered to Apuzzo via email, was not based on the issues presented in the challenge, namely that Obama is not a natural born citizen of the United States and that a birth certificate released by the White House last April is fraudulent, but rather on a technicality, Apuzzo said. The judge …

What's your theory on this latest document that claims borat's a Kenyan? You must have a theory. Do you think Obama was just lying to enhance his resume? Were they trying to create some buzz for an affirmative action president of the Harvard Law Review? I just find …   more ›

President Obama's Eligibility Challenged

Two men, including a Monmouth County resident, are challenging President Barack Obama's placement on the state's primary ballot.

Two New Jersey residents, including one from Monmouth County, are challenging President Barack Obama's place on the state's primary ballot, according to the Bayshore Tea Party Group. Nick Purpura, of Monmouth County, has filed a challenge along with Ocean County resident Ted Moran alleging that Obama has never shown adequate proof that he was born in the United States - despite the release of a longform birth certificate by the White House in April of 2011 - and that his father was never a citizen of the United States, meaning Obama is not a natural born citizen, at least according to their interpretation of the Constitution. The challenge will be heard by an administrative law judge Tuesday at the Administrative Law Offices in …

Jeff Hansen, Denice DiCarlo Running Unopposed in Party Primaries

The two were the only candidates to file by Monday’s deadline.

It’ll be a pair of one-horse races heading into the June primaries, as West Deptford’s Republicans and Democrats each solidified behind single candidates for the lone open seat on township committee. As expected, Denice DiCarlo, who is filling the unexpired term vacated by former mayor Anna Docimo, will run for the Democrats, while the Republicans have put forth Jeff Hansen, who chairs the RiverWinds advisory board, as their candidate. Unlike last year, there will be no challengers on either side—the splinter Gloucester County Republican organization, which ran Matt Mahon and Loran Oglesby last year, filed no candidates this year. Neither candidate was a surprise; Hansen’s name has been floated as the likely candidate since at least …

Gloucester County Democrats Stick with Status Quo

From the county level to the U.S. Senate, the Democrats are sticking by their incumbents.

The Gloucester County Democratic Committee (GCDC) has endorsed the full slate of incumbents, from freeholders on up to the United States Senate, for reelection in November, GCDC chair Fred Madden announced in a release Wednesday. With two freeholder seats and the sheriff's, county clerk's and surrogate's positions all open this year, the GCDC put its weight behind all the current officeholders, endorsing Robert Damminger and Giuseppe (Joe) Chila for freeholder, Carmel Morina for sheriff, James Hogan for clerk, and Helene Reed for surrogate. Madden heaped praise on the party’s candidates, and said their records speak volumes. “There are no harder workers for the people of Gloucester County than the members of our county team, each of whom …

West Deptford School Board Moves Election to November

The board took advantage of new state law that allows school elections to coincide with the general election.

Citing cost savings and the potential for increased turnout at the polls as motivation, the West Deptford school board voted 8-1 Monday to join nearly 300 districts across the state to take advantage of a new state law and move the annual school election from April to November. After a lengthy debate last month, school board members got further information from superintendent Kevin Kitchenman on the pros and cons of a move, including what other districts were doing, as well as the potential costs for keeping the election in April. While last year’s election cost West Deptford schools $11,277 to run, this year could’ve been potentially close to double that, had the election stayed in April, school board President Christopher Strano said. …
