GCC Ceremony Recognizes Banner Year in Roadrunner Athletics

Deptford Twp. – The Gloucester County College Athletic department took center stage on Tuesday, Oct. 29, receiving accolades and applause for the outstanding student talent and coaching staff responsible for the best season in Roadrunner history.

Representatives from the Learfield Sports Directors Cup, National College Baseball Hall of Fame, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New Jersey (CAANJ) Cup and the National Alliance of Two-Year Collegiate Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup recognized the College’s national championship teams, coaches and athletic director for a banner year, making GCC athletics the best two-year college non-scholarship program in the country.  The Roadrunners captured their eighth CAANJ Cup and fourth consecutive NATYCAA Cup, along with the prestigious Learfield Cup as the best overall athletic program in the nation.

Women’s soccer and men’s cross country earned second-place finishes. To date, the Roadrunners have won a total of 26 NJCAA National Championships and achieved the top three national placements 61 times since 1992.
