GCC Foundation Hosts Wine and Chocolate Fundraiser Oct. 4

Deptford Twp. – Tasteful chocolates and savory wines will boast the sweet richness of student success at the Gloucester County College Foundation’s seventh annual Wine & Chocolate Festival Friday, Oct. 4 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Co-sponsored by Joe Canals of West Deptford, the popular event will take place at Wedgwood Country Club in Turnersville.

Throughout the evening, guests can sample more than 100 wines as they enjoy hot and cold Hor d’oeuvres and a carving station. Ten wine distributors, including local favorite Cedarvale Winery of Swedesboro, will participate in this year’s event. Guests will have the opportunity to try signature sweet treats from around the world provided by Callebaut Belgian Wholesalers, Belvue Belgium Chocolate, Duffy’s Chocolates and The Nut Shoppe.

According to GCC Foundation Director of Development Raymond Page, more than 180 individuals graciously donated $7,000 at last year’s festival. Since its inception, the event has generated more than $36,000 for student scholarships. The Foundation possesses $3 million in total resources and gifts $175,000 annually to students from within the community.
