GCC Launches New Construction Operator Technician Program

Deptford Twp. – The Gloucester County College Division of Continuing Education will host an information session for its new Construction Operator Technician program on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. at the Continuing Education Center.

This 124-hour training program prepares students to perform a number of gas pipeline construction activities, ranging from plastic pipe fusion and installation, to reading and regulating gas meters. During the session, interested individuals will learn more about the course curriculum and employment opportunities in the natural gas industry.

Students will receive instruction in detecting leaks, inspecting pipes, installing gas meters, performing indicator readings, examining pressure gauges and deciphering pipeline drawings. They will also participate in hands-on training at the South Jersey Gas facility.
