Outstanding Achievement Awards Presented to 44th Basic Police Class Graduates

Deptford Twp – Outstanding Achievement awards were presented to 26 graduates of the 44th Basic Police Class of the Gloucester County Police Academy on Wednesday, July 9, in the Physical Education Center on the campus of Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC).

Twenty-six men graduated with fanfare and good wishes, marking the completion of their 19-week training session. Police Academy Director Fred H. Madden welcomed guests, with opening remarks provided by Dr. Linda Martin, vice president of Academic Services. The keynote address was presented by Chief Chris Wachter, of the Paulsboro Police Department.

Following the presentation of diplomas, achievement awards were presented to the following graduates:

The Director’s Award, Physical Training Award, Firearms Award, Division of Criminal Justice Merit Award and the Special Dedication Award were presented to Joshua Favereaux, of Willingboro.

Kevin Crain, of Cherry Hill, received the Academic Award.

The Vehicle Operations Award was presented to Derrik Murphy, of Cape May.

Physical Training Awards were also presented to Brad Davenport and Zachary Inman, of Pennsville; Michael Nuscis, of Lower Township; Ron Paglia (alternate route), of Washington Township; Joshua Smith, of Millville and Zachary J. Van Fossen, of the New Jersey State Park Police.

            The 26 graduates represented Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Monmouth and Salem Counties, as well as the New Jersey State Park Police and Delaware River Port Authority.

The Gloucester County Police Academy operates as an autonomous unit within RCGC’s Division of Law and Justice.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is located on a 250-acre campus on Tanyard Road, Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
