Philadelphia Eagles Safety Nate Allen Motivates ACT Students

Deptford Twp. – Philadelphia Eagles Safety Nate Allen was on the GCC campus Feb. 26 motivating ACT students to stay positive, work hard and keep a good attitude. When student Jon Cirillo (right) made the connection that one of his coworkers — a dietitian at the Shop Rite in Glassboro— was the girlfriend of Allen, he quickly put in motion plans to invite the NFL athlete to speak to his class. Allen shared snippets of his childhood, college life and NFL career, inspiring the young adults to believe in themselves and not listen to naysayers.

Located on the GCC campus, the ACT program provides students, ages 18 to 24 with disabilities who are not enrolled in high school, access to post-secondary education and skill training to assist with their transition to adult life.

Gloucester County College’s 250-acre campus is located at 1400 Tanyard Road in Deptford, right off Exit 56 of Route 55.
