Woodbury High School Student Achievements

Woodbury High School students receive accolades on a regular basis. Here are some students who received recent recognition:

Congratulations to sophomore Deontae Moore who won a Silver Medal in Short Story from ACT-SO New Jersey’s statewide competition!

ACT-SO is an acronym for Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics. It is a student enrichment program where students compete for awards and prizes totaling over $50,000.

Congratulations to juniors Casey Sharp and Zeaenna Brackett who both won The Sage Colleges' "Student Sage" Award.

These students were nominated by the high school scholarship committee because they're both good examples of students who exemplify Sage's motto, "To Be, To Know, To Do."

Both Casey and Zeaenna are guaranteed scholarships toward tuition at Russell Sage College or Sage College of Albany in recognition of their academic achievements and community involvement.

Congratulations to senior Alex Slusser who won a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 from the School Maintenance Supervisors Association of Camden and Gloucester Counties.

Alex was the recipient of this award because of his good academic record, attendance, and his commitment to continue his education in college.

Congratulations to junior DeAna Messado-Moten, who was recently selected by The Woman’s Club of Woodbury to participate in Girls’ Career Institute, which will be held in June at the Douglass College campus in New Brunswick.

The Institute provides attendees the opportunity to hear presentations from women in several professions, see what life is like on a college campus, and meet other young women from New Jersey who share similar goals.
