Woodbury Junior-Senior High School to Hold Community Open House on April 24

Woodbury Junior-Senior High School, a leader in personalizing education, will be hosting a Community Open House on Thursday, April 24. School tours will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and again at 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Woodbury Junior-Senior High School is extremely proud of the changes the school has undergone in the last few years with increased technology, state-of-the-art classrooms, 16 Advanced Placement (AP) classes, its Advancement via Individual Determination (AVID) National Demonstration School status, plus its numerous awards, including a Silver Medal from U.S. News & World Report. The staff and administrators are looking forward to inviting the residents, community leaders, business owners, and alumni into the school in order to share its numerous achievements.

In addition, the public will be invited to peruse “Windows of Woodbury -- A Celebration of Our Schools,” an exhibit of Woodbury City Public Schools memorabilia curated by senior students, Emily Repas and Brock Juliano.

Highlights of the exhibit include the brick trowel used by Woodrow Wilson, then New Jersey governor, when he was present at the laying of the cornerstone of the high school in 1912; and the high school yearbook inside cover designed by student Gary E. Armstrong, who later went on to create the plaque on the moon left by the Apollo 11 astronauts.

For more information on attending the open house, please contact Stephanie Reeves at 856-853-0123 ext. 261 or sreeves@woodburysch.com by Monday, April 21.
