Mayor's Holiday Food and Toy Drive Underway

West Deptford residents have until about Dec. 10 to donate canned good, clothes or toys to local families in need.

In what has become a holiday tradition, West Deptford is currently holding its annual Mayor's Holiday Food and Toy Drive.

Collection bins have been set up around in various locations around West Deptford. Some of the buildings that have bins include the RiverWinds Community Center, the West Deptford Municipal Building, the West Deptford Free Public Library and at the ShopRite on Mantua Pike.

Township administrator Eric Campo said that letters have been sent out to all West Deptford residents informing them of the drive. Campo also said that the township is gathering a lists of families to which the food, clothes and toys will go to after being collected. In a few weeks, township officials will gather all of the items collected and distribute them among the families in need in time for the holidays.

Residents in the township are encouraged to drop off canned goods, clothing items and toys to any of the collection bins. The drive is currently ongoing and is expected to wrap up around Dec. 10.

Hey Mike, where do you get your information? No letters were sent out to the residents informing them of the drive. Also, do you know how many families will be asssisted this year. Under the previous administration I believe Mayor Docimo helped out over 90 families in need and from what I've heard that has been reduced to 15 this year.

Hopefully they will help more than 90 families, not just the 15 that you suggested. Various locations are set up for you to contribute. Eric is doing a fine job on this. Please put your money where your mouth is and contribute. Thanks,

Negative, negative, negative. Is that all you do Time? Criticize anything actions by our administration and committee. Does everything have to be a spin. I suppose the mayor kept the other 75 turkeys and ham for himself and the republican Christmas party. That's it Time. Right?
