Ozone Action Day in the Forecast for West Deptford on Tuesday

Ozone is expected to reach unhealthy levels for sensitive groups on Tuesday.

The season's first Ozone Action Day has been declared.

Tuesday, June 17, has been designated as an Ozone Action Day across the state, including West Deptford, the state Department of Environmental Protection announced on Monday.

Ozone is forecast to reach unhealthy levels for sensitive groups due to light west winds, warm temperatures, and mostly sunny skies.

Sensitive individuals, including the young, elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the afternoon and evening hours.

In addition, fine particles are forecast to reach the moderate category throughout the Garden State with increasing humidity.
