Road Conditions Clear in West Deptford, Chief Says

Police Chief Samuel DiSimone says the roadways are safe to travel in West Deptford, thanks to hard work from local, county, and state work crews.

Aside from a downed pole at Parkville Road and Route 45 in the township, West Deptford has come through the overnight snowfall remarkably well, said Police Chief Samuel DiSimone.

Reached for comment on conditions in the township on Friday afternoon, the chief told Patch that the roadways are clear thanks to the efforts of local, state, and county workers.

"Our guys did a great job," DiSimone said. "I think everybody listened to what they should do and stayed off the roads and gave them time to clean them."

Although the township has been closed due to the state of emergency decreed by Governor Chris Christie on Thursday evening, DiSimone said he believes residents should be able to travel safely.

"We’re not getting any calls saying, 'when is somebody coming to do our roads' or anything like that," he said.
