Here are five local events for the week of Feb. 18-23.

Trying to stave off those winter blues? Ward off cabin fever with these five events going on around town:

1. Board Game Night

Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 6:30 p.m.—Woodbury Public Library

Get your game on—board game, that is, with the second board game night, provided by Tiki Board Games in Woodbury. Held once every month at the Woodbury Public Library, board game night is recommended for anyone 12 and older. Tons of board game fun to be had!

2. Hand Built Clay Pottery Series

Thursday, Feb. 21 from 1 to 3 p.m.—RiverWinds Community Center

Want to try your hand at clay pottery. For just $48 for members and $58 for non-members, members of the community and non-residents are invited to join in this first of a four class series. Participants will learn how to make functional pieces of pottery applying techniques such as pinch, coil and slab construction. All pieces will be fired and glazed.

Series consist of four, two-hour classes which will be held every Thursday from Feb. 21 to March 14.

3. Salsa Dancing @ Your Library

Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.—West Deptford Free Public Library

Noting like a little Latin dancing to spice up a cold winter night. The West Deptford Free Public Library offers some free salsa dance lessons as part of their adult services program. Instructors from Dances by Diane in Westville will help you dance the night away with some snazzy salsa steps.

4. Discover Scuba

Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m.—RiverWinds Community Center

Offered every third Thursday of the month, this introductory scuba class eases participants into scuba by laying a foundation for Open Water certification. Participants will get familiarized with diving equipment, as well as experience breathing under water. All activities will be done under the supervision of a PADI certified SCUBA instructor.

A onetime fee of $30 is required 24 hours prior to participation; however those who go on to register for Open Water certification will receive a $25 discount on their check-out dive.

Friday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.—Woodbury Public Library
