Get Out: October is Here
Get Out this weekend to a concert, Oktoberfest, or an '80s dance party.
October is here once again, and you know what that means–Oktoberfest! This week's edition of Get Out features two decidedly different Oktoberfest celebrations, an '80s Dance Party, charity concert to fight hunger, and a haunted battleship. Enjoy!
- Where/When: Campbell's Field–401 N. Delaware Ave., Camden, NJ. Gates open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
- What's Going On: Fight hunger and have a great time at this charity concert headlined by Patty Smyth and Scandal. Other artists include the Grammy Award winning Sam Sparro, Jill Knight, and many more. There will also be face painting from the folks at Paint Me and Veggie Critters from the people at the Garden State Discovery Museum.
- Pricing: Tickets range from $15 to $100 depending on seating.

- Where/When: Palmyra Cove Nature Park–1300 Rt. 73, Palmyra, NJ. 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
- What's Going On: Enjoy Bavarian styled music, authentic German foods and autumn styled and Bavarian beers at this indoor and outdoor event. Check out a bird demonstration from falconer Jennifer Penna, a visit from the "turtle lady", or take a brisk wildlife observation hike. Proceeds go to support the park.
- Pricing: $40 a ticket, $75 a couple and $100 for a family
Voyage of the Living Dead Battleship Tours
- Where/When: The Battleship New Jersey–2 Riverside Dr., Camden, NJ. 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
- What's Going On: The mad doctor Helena Tesla is trying to create a new breed of super sailors aboard the Battleship New Jersey. Tour guides will take you through the labs of Dr. Tesla through her treatment labs, experiments in regeneration and psychological programming. Afterwards head to the main deck for a "live" party featuring drinks, dancing, and food.
- Pricing: $30 per person

- Where/When: Walnut to Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA. Noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
- What's Going On: Drury Street, McGillin's Olde Ale House and the surrounding neighborhoods will be turned into an enormous beer garden in honor of the German celebration of Oktoberfest. Enjoy outdoor karaoke, German beer and food, family activities and more!
- Pricing: Admission is free
- Where/When: World Cafe Live at the Queen–500 N. Market St., Wilmington, DE. Doors open at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 1.
- What's Going On: WXPN's Land of the Lost DJ Robert Drake is the penultimate guru of all things New Wave. Dance the night away to a mix of 80's classics.This is a 21 and older show.
- Pricing: $10 a ticket. Standing room only.
