Grab and Go Kids Planner: Swedish Holidays, Spanish Games and Sheherazade

Enter a weekend filled with fantastical stories of Arabian Nights, educational lunches, Swedish traditions, founding fathers and the one and only Easter Bunny!

Attention parents: reading the family planner out loud is a great way to create some well needed family time as well as instill the love of reading in our youth. However, this week you may want to refrain because they might just freak out with excitement. (Note: the words Easter and Bunny appear three times right next to each other. You have been warned.) Get ready for the Grab and Go Kids Planner!

Family Concert: Sheherazade

  • Where/When: Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts–300 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA. Show begins at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26.
  • What’s Going On: The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Enchantment Theatre Company will bring you on a magical journey through 1001 Arabian Nights with music, masks, puppets and more! Watch as Sheherazade tales fantastic tales to appease her king and save her kingdom.
  • Pricing: $7-$46 a ticket

 The Easter Bunny Comes to Deptford

  • Where/When: Target Portrait Studio–1900 Deptford Center Rd., Deptford, NJ, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
  • What’s Going On: The Easter Bunny will be coming early to pose with good little girls and boys. Turn the usual 8x10 Easter Bunny photo into a work of art with studio CDs and the portrait studio. Reserve your time slot early by calling or using their website. Additional photo shoots will take place on March 24 and April 7.
  • Pricing: $4 and up depending on package.

 Waffle Day

  • Where/When: The Garden State Discovery Museum–2040 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 26.
  • What’s Going On: The folks at the Garden State Discovery Museum will be serving up waffles from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in honor of the Swedish National Holiday “Waffle Day”. Enjoy the music of ABBA, make a Viking hat, play hockey and watch the Voorhees Ballet Theatre perform parts of the classic ballet Coppelia!
  • Pricing: $10.95 for adults and children 12 months and over, $9.95 for seniors. All programs are free with admission unless otherwise noted

Exhibition: The Story of We the People

  • Where/When: The National Constitution Center–52 Arch St., Independence Mall, Philadelphia, PA. Friday, March 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 27 from noon to 5 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: More than 100 multimedia exhibits, film, photographs, sculptures and artifacts tell the story of the Constitution, it’s history and how it has effected our people. The exhibit also features an award winning theatrical performance called Freedom Rising and 42 life-sized statues of our founding fathers.
  • Pricing: General admission: $12, $11 for seniors 65 and over, $8 for kids 4-12.

Easy Learn Language at The Pop Shop

  • Where/When- The Pop Shop–729 Haddon Ave., Collingswood, NJ. Friday, March 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
  • What’s Going On: Listen to a Spanish-themed story with crafts and games at this nostalgic early 60’s restaurant. A children’s lunch is included with the price of the event. Call ahead to register. Es muy bien!
