West Deptford Residents Snag Emmy Nomination

Diane Heery and Jason Loftus are turning heads at their Kensington-based casting agency thanks to their work on USA's now-canceled 'Political Animals.'

A pair of West Deptford residents are up for an Emmy thanks to their work on the (now-canceled) USA television series Political Animals.

The Heery Casting agency, which is led by West Deptford's Diane Heery and Jason Loftus, will find out whether it takes home a statue at the Sept. 22 awards.

"Everyone here at Heery Casting wants to include all of the great actors in the Philadelphia area for making this happen," the company said in a statement on its website. "Thank you for all of your talent!"

In an interview with the Philadelphia Daily News, Heery told columnist Michael Hinkelman, "We're unique because most casting directors are specialized," and doesn't limit itself to one type of production.

Political Animals was remembered as intriguing to critics—landing plaudits as one of the Most Exciting New Series of 2012—but struggled to find a regular audience.
