A Hot Week Ahead

Will your 4th of July barbecue plans be ruined by thunderstorms, or will you be able to get them in? Find out in this week's PatchCast for July 2nd through July 8th.

We will be under high pressure to start the week, bringing us heat but not so much humidity. Today, July 2nd, will feature hot sunshine with low humidity, so maybe it won't feel too bad outside without the muggy feeling in the air. The high temperature this afternoon will be around 90 degrees. We'll remain under high pressure on Tuesday, July 3rd, but with the approach of a warm front from the south we may see more in the way of cloud cover. I'll call it a mix of sun and clouds with a high in the lower 90s. The warm front will move through on Tuesday night.

On the 4th of July, there will be more humidity behind the warm front. A few scattered thunderstorms can't be ruled out. It will certainly feel like summer with a high in the lower 90s. The day won't be a wash-out, so you should be able to get your holiday barbecue plans in, but be sure to keep an eye on the radar at Phillyweather.net.

The humidity will stick around for the rest of the week, along with the heat. Thursday, July 5th, will be hazy, hot, and humid with a chance of thunderstorms. The high temperature will be in the lower 90s. Friday, July 6th, will also be hazy, hot, and humid with a chance of a thunderstorm. Friday's high will be near 95 degrees.

The first half of the weekend looks dry, but still hot and humid with a mix of sun and clouds. Saturday, July 7th's, high will be near 95 degrees. Sunday, July 8th, has the potential to be stormy with a high near 90 degrees. However, this is about a week away and the forecast could certainly change.

Be sure to check Phillyweather.net throughout the week for updated forecasts!
