72 Jobs on Chopping Block as AmerisourceBergen Leaves West Deptford

The pharmaceutical giant submitted a layoff notice with the state Department of Labor, citing the planned closing of its West Deptford facility in April.

After 15 years in West Deptford, AmerisourceBergen is closing its doors—affecting an estimated 72 workers.

AmerisourceBergen has officially submitted a Workers Adjustment and Retraining (WARN) notice with New Jersey Department of Labor (NJDOL). According to the NJDOL website, the building is expected to close by April 5 of this year.

The WARN Act, which was enacted on Aug. 4, 1988, obligates employers to provide a notice 60 days prior to a closing or significant layoff to workers, the state dislocated workers unit and the appropriate unit of local government—according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
