Red Robin Sets Date for Grand Opening

As of Feb. 4, Red Robin will be grilling up burgers and raising money for a cause.

In less than two weeks, customers will have to travel no farther than Deptford Mall to fulfill their craving for Red’s Tavern Double or the Royal Red Robin Burger.

After the long-awaited arrival, Red Robin will finally open its doors on Monday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. at Deptford Mall.

Serving up gourmet burgers and its signature steak fries is not all that Red Robin will bring to the grand opening. The restaurant plans to capitalize on the opportunity to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation with every sale of their signature Freckled Lemonade—a sweet concoction of Minute Maid lemonade and strawberries.

Fundraising efforts will run from Monday, Feb. 4 to Sunday, Feb. 10. Red Robin’s Freckled Lemonade can be purchased at $3.99 per cup and includes free refills.

Liz Scott, co-executive director of Alex’s Lemonade Stand, will be on hand Feb. 4 to help serve customers Freckled Lemonade. Scott is the mother of Alexandria “Alex” Scott, who created the foundation to fund efforts in curing pediatric cancer.

As a 4-year-old cancer patient, Alex Scott began raising money for a cure by selling lemonade from a stand in her own front yard. After her death in 2004, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation continued to carry on the mission.

The popular Red Robin chain has been around for more than 40 years, but this is the first to open in the Gloucester County area. The restaurant will bring with it two dozen varieties of gourmet burgers, as well as salads, entrees, soups and wraps. In addition, Red Robin features more than 100 different toppings that can be used to customize any burger.

However, if Feb. 4 seems like too long of a wait, there is some good news.

In order to fully train their staff, the new location is offering a sneak preview celebration. After registering for the event, guest will receive a free complimentary meal on a selected date. Registration for the guest list is on a first come, first serve basis and is only for select dates and times.

All guests must register online at Red Robin’s website and must bring the registration confirmation with them in order to participate.
