Wheelabrator Meeting Tuesday

Representatives from the waste-to-energy plant will talk with the public at the West Deptford library.

Residents with questions about the Wheelabrator waste-to-energy plant can get a glimpse into the workings of the facility at its annual meeting at the Tuesday.

The 5 p.m. session will include an update on the plant's operations and environmental efforts, as well as a public comment session.

The plant processes about 525 tons of trash every day, generating around 14,000 kilowatts of electricity. While the physical plant takes up about 40 acres, the bulk of the property is given over to a wildlife refuge along the Delaware River and Big Timber Creek.
