Entrants must be at least 25 years old and may enter only once for each of the 11 weeks offered. The dates for the 11 vacations are a week apart from June 22 through Aug. 31. Random drawings three weeks prior to the vacation weeks will determine the winners.

Participating Ocean City real estate agencies contributed the vacation rentals, and photos and details on the accommodations are available on the contest page. This year, one of the rental properties is on the bayfront and includes a boat slip.

"Each guest house is located in a great location within walking distance of the beach," the Chamber writes on the contest page. "Winners will stay in a house with a minimum of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, capable of sleeping six to eight people."

In the first year of the contest in 2010, 25,385 people entered to win eight week-long vacations. In 2011, the contest drew 34,461 entries. Expanded to 11 weeks last year, the contest saw 56,440 entries. And since the contest began on Feb. 28, the Chamber already has received 9,696 entries, according to Chamber Marketing Director Shawnda McGinnis.

The contest is part of a major marketing campaign financed and run by the Ocean City Tourism Commission in conjunction with the Chamber and the Ocean City Board of Realtors. The Tourism Commission is funded through mercantile fees.

Information collected from contest entrants helps the commission identify target areas for advertising in print, on television and radio, and online.
