Woodbury Bottom Dollar Offers Free Groceries at Opening

The first 200 people in line on South Broad St. Thursday morning will receive a tote bag full of groceries.

Bottom Dollar Food is looking to make a splash when it opens its Woodbury location Thursday morning.

In addition to adding 55 jobs to the local economy, the food chain is offering a reusable shopping bag full of groceries to the first 200 customers in line.

The store, located at 215 South Broad Street, will also offer reusable grocery bags to customers all day long.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 8 a.m., and will include the presentation of two $500 checks: one to the YMCA and another to the Greater Woodbury Cooperative Ministries Food Pantry, which during the summer feeds children who receive free or reduced-price school lunches.

The food chain is focused on customer service, advertising a lowest-price guarantee to undercut its competitors' prices by a penny, a policy to replace any unsatisfactory meat or produce items plus issuing a full refund; and "a double-money-back guarantee on all private brand products," according to a statement.

“We look forward to opening our doors to Woodbury customers and being a good partner in the community,” Bottom Dollar Food President Meg Ham said in a press release.

Bottom Dollar Food is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 9 p.m. on Sunday.
