South Jersey Chef Enjoys Fifth Year in Business at Age 25

Entrepreneur Chef Angela Rose Capanna has a thriving culinary arts business – and an upgraded website

Turnersville, NJ -  When 21-year old Angela Capanna decided to offer home-made specialty pies for sale for Thanksgiving in 2009, she didn't know she would become an entrepreneur, with an established career as a personal chef and custom baker by the time she'd turned 25. 

Eat Your Heart Out Edibles, a Personal Chef Service and Made-to-Order Bakery, began in 2009.  "I grew up in the kitchen loving to bake and cook.  After my wallet was stolen and debit account hacked weeks before the holiday season, my friends and family suggested that I sell my unique dessert treats," said Chef Angela.  That November, Angela began to sell a selection of desserts for the holidays.  From Chocolate Chip Cookie Pies to Truffle platters, the attempt was a success.  Building on that success, she took her made-to-order dessert business to the next level by becoming a certified Personal Chef.

As a Personal Chef, Angela cooks a week’s worth of meals in her client’s home kitchen, leaving them with a refrigerator full of delicious food and with the age-old question of “what’s for dinner?” solved.

Angela's clients have taken her on a culinary odyssey, as many of them have had special dietary needs.  Through much research and reaching out to local experts, she has expanded her recipe box to include new techniques for tasty meals for almost every nutritional regimen, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, raw, non-dairy, figure friendly, and Paleo in addition to traditional fare...and she's always on the lookout for more!

"My repertoire continues to grow, cooking healthy, mostly plant-based meals as a participating chef for Real Food Works of Philadelphia, teaching public cooking classes for The American Table of Collingswood, NJ, and conducting private in-home cooking lessons as well.  I also am a proud participant in the Easter Seals life-skills program, teaching developmentally delayed clients the “real life skill” and joy of cooking," said Chef Angela.

Eat Your Heart Out Edibles Bakery offers custom orders only.  All mini-desserts, cookie trays and pies are made fresh for customers ranging from family get-togethers to large events.  

Ordering custom dessert trays is a great way to ease the stress of preparing for holidays and special events, Chef Angela says.  Her popular mini-treats can supplement or replace typical desserts at any size event.  According to Chef Angela, "the made-to-order bites are perfect for parties.  Instead of having to get a big sheet cake, you can get our small bites.  I've found that most people would rather sample than commit to a whole piece of cake."

Eat Your Heart Out Edibles’ range of services has now expanded to include private dinner parties and small events catering.  Chef Angela particularly enjoys preparing menus and special decorative touches for “theme” parties, often providing servers to circulate trays of her creative, unique appetizers among the guests.  Recent events include a pub-themed party, a Sunflower party and a pre-wedding brunch.     

 Her recently upgraded website (www.eatyourheartoutedibles.com) highlights all the services offered by owner/operator Chef Angela Capanna and features sample menus with detailed descriptions of many of her signature dishes.   

Chef Angela is a proud member of the American Personal & Private Chef Association, is certified in the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating and ServSafe safe food handling, and cooks Weight Watchers-Friendly. 

"Now I am doing what I love and making a living...and you can eat your heart out!" she says with a smile.
