Annual Kids Fishing Contest Slated for Saturday
Gloucester County's 27th annual tournament features competition for kids 18 years old and younger.
Break out the rod and reel, it’s time for Gloucester County’s annual fishing contest.
The 27th annual Kids Fishing Contest is set for Saturday, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Wilson Lake at Scotland Run Park in Clayton.
The free event, sponsored by Sportsman’s Outpost in Williamstown, features trophies and prizes in three age groups: 7 years old and under, 8 to 13 years old and 14 to 18 years old.

“It’s nice to see children doing something we used to do when we were kids; they enjoy the fishing and the competition,” said Freeholder Director Robert Damminger.
There are boating and non-boating categories, and all contestants 16 years old and older must have a fishing license. Awards will be presented at 11:30 at boat launch off Fries Mill Road.
