Flooding Closes Crown Point Road

Heavy rains pummel the area.

The heavy rainfall overnight and into the morning flooded Crown Point Road north of Paradise Road in West Deptford, shutting the road to traffic Sunday morning.

Both lanes were closed to traffic because of the conditions.

West Deptford and Gloucester County are under flash flood warnings, like most of South Jersey, according to the National Weather Service. Bands of heavy rain coming through Sunday morning are capable of producing several inches of rain.

Rainfall is expected to continue throughout Sunday, and storms are likely Monday as well. Tuesday's forecast calls for a chance of thunderstorms.
