Strike Out Breast Cancer, Fitness Expo: 5 Things for This Week

Plus: West Depftord welcomes a new thrift shop, a free classical music concert at the library from some heavy hitters and a craft and yard sale to benefit Colonial Manor U.M.C.

1. Strike Out Breast Cancer Week

West Deptford Baseball and Softball will raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation at a number of events throughout the week. There are a number of student initiatives at the high school—bake sales during lunch period, handmade bracelets, pink jeans faculty jeans days.

But you can show up at the games and make a difference, too:

  • The freshmen baseball team will play a cancer benefit game Monday, May 6 at 3:45 p.m. on the high school freshman field.
  • On Wednesday, May 8 at 7 p.m., the WDHS varsity softball team will play an evening game at the West Deptford Little League softball field.
  • On Thursday, May 9 at 3:45 p.m., the J.V. baseball team will take Bob Oldt Field; the varsity baseball team plays at 7 p.m. at Union Field.

Those in attendance can support the Baseball Little Sisters' pink lemonade stand during the games, as well as a 50/50 for the Komen Foundation. Wear pink for the Wednesday evening game and get a free Polish Water Ice from Woodbury Polish Water Ice
