UPDATE: Discolored Tap Water Remains a Problem Sunday

Many residents experienced brown or tinted tap water Saturday thanks to malfunctioning tanks.

UPDATE, Sunday 3:25 p.m.: Residents may continue to experience discolored or rusty water as township crews work to flush out water storage tanks, according to . Police could not offer a timeline for when the work will be completed, but said the flushing is ongoing.

West Deptford residents are under a water advisory until at least Sunday morning.

According to reports, a majority of West Deptford residents experienced brown or tinted tap water today. The problems stemmed from storage tank malfunctions that caused rust to enter tap water.

The town was in the process of refilling the malfunctioning tanks Saturday. ABC 6 News reported that the water should return to normal by Sunday morning. In the meantime, residents can use bottled water or boil drinking water.
