White Bridge Repairs Get State Funding

A state Department of Transportation grant will go to fixing the bridge.

A $400,000 grant from the state has been earmarked for repairs to the White Bridge on the West Deptford-National Park border, 3rd District legislators announced Tuesday.

The funding from the state Department of Transportation comes a year after , including repairs to the White Bridge’s pilings.

The grant for the White Bridge was announced simultaneously with a $1 million project to replace the Palatine Culvert in Pittsgrove Township, Salem County.

“Fixing or replacing our deficient bridges is not only critical to the safety and well-being of those traveling our roads, but it also helps revive and create economic opportunities,” state Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney said. “I look forward to these new and fixed bridges allowing safer drives for our commuters.”
