Donald Norcross, Garry Cobb to Meet for Vacant Congressional Seat in November

Donald Norcross captured the Democratic Primary Tuesday night, while Garry Cobb won the Republican nomination.

The race to fill the First Congressional District seat left vacant when Rob Andrews resigned in February is down to two.

As of 11 p.m. Tuesday night, it appeared Democrat Donald Norcross and Republican Garry Cobb had each won their respective primaries Tuesday night to set up the Nov. 4 elections, with all of Gloucester County reporting, and large portions of Burlington and Camden counties reporting.

The Associated Press projected Norcross and Cobb as the winners.

Voters will go to the polls on Nov. 4 to determine who fills the unexpired term and who will assume the seat for the next full two-year-term.

Andrews resigned amid an ethics investigation in February to take a position with Dilworth Paxson.

The race for two seats on the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders was also narrowed Tuesday night.

Republicans Joe Bennis, Jeannie Butterworth-Green and Christopher Hervochon will face incumbent Democrats Adam Taliaferro, Heather Simmons and Lyman Barnes for three open Gloucester County Freeholder seats in November.

All six ran unopposed in their respective primaries.
