Commemorating the run by Jonas Cattell on Oct. 22, 1777, to warn Fort Mercer of an impending attack by the British, the race kicks off from King's Court in Haddonfield, heads down Kings Highway to Route 130 into Westville, continues along Broadway down into Woodbury before turning to Hessian Avenue and on to the finish at the entrance to Red Bank Battlefield, which will host 18th Century Field Day following the race.

Runners can catch a bus from the battlefield to the start in Haddonfield at 7:30 a.m., or park at the start and get a ride back from the finish after the finish.
