To the Editor: Twp. Admin Appointment Raises Questions

Resident Rick Nichols says the replacement of Eric Campo with Brandon Umba reflects the same crony politics against which the GOP campaigned.

As Mark Twain said, “It is easier to fool people than convince them they have been fooled.”

Ten days ago, during the West Deptford reorganization meeting, the GOP majority announced that they had let go a highly qualified, seasoned Administrator, (Mr. Eric Campo), & replaced him with their campaign advisor/coordinator, (Mr. Brandon Umba), who unbelievably, has zero qualifications, and zero experience! In fact, I’m not even sure he submitted a resume or interviewed for the position!

Did we even attempt to find a candidate better suited for the position than Mr. Campo? Logic would dictate we would look to upgrade at the position if we were letting someone go. Instead we appointed their campaign advisor!

This cronyism is exactly the type of thing Mayor Chintall, and Committeeman Cianfarini pledged would not happen on their watch, and unfortunately, it’s not even the first time!

Do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do politics must come to an end in West Deptford.
