Camden's first homicide of 2014 came not even 48 hours into the new year, after a man was found shot to death Thursday night in the city's Whitman Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Tristan Fulton, 39, was found in the 1600 block of Louis Street around 10:50 p.m., authorities said, after officers responded to a report of gunfire via the city's shot spotter network of microphones.

Fulton was dead at the scene, authorities said.

His shooting comes two days after a double homicide closed out 2013 with 57 homicides in the city, the third-worst in Camden history.
