Bank Robber Pleads Guilty to January Heist

Angel Luis Martinez admits to threatening a teller and making off with $10,000 from West Deptford's TD Bank.

A Camden resident pleaded guilty Wednesday to robbing West Deptford’s TD Bank in January, and will be sentenced on Aug. 2 for the crime.

Angel Luis Martinez, 52, entered his guilty plea to U.S. District Judge Joseph E. Irenas in Camden federal court. He entered the plea before his case was presented to a federal grand jury.

Martinez admitted to of $10,000 on Jan. 25. According to authorities, he approached a teller, and threatened her by saying, “This is a robbery, give me $10,000 or I will shoot you.”

The teller retrieved the money from the vault, and gave it to Martinez, who fled. .

Martinez faces a maximum 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced Aug. 2.
