Break-in Discovered at West Deptford Solar Farm

Police have not determined a motive in the incident.

An unexplained hole in the fence of a West Deptford solar farm is no immediate cause for concern, say police—although they don't have any leads on who did it or why.

At 9:56 a.m. on May 9, West Deptford police received a call from an employee of NextEra Energy Resources to report a damaged fence at its Crown Point Rd. location.

The employee told police that when he arrived at the site that morning, he'd noticed a 3-feet-by-3-feet hole had been cut in a section of the 8-foot chain link fence that surrounds the property near Paradise Rd.

Police say that according to the witness, the incident seemed to have occurred within the past two weeks. Nothing appeared to have been damaged or taken from the site, and other NextEra sites in the area were untouched.

The damage has been repaired since, but the cost of repairs were unknown to police.
