Car Vandalism Highlights West Deptford Crimelog

The police department released a list of crimes reported in the past week.

–A Mercury Mountaineer's driver's side rear window was smashed out, and a large hammer was found on the passenger-side floor, near Manduit Street and Grove Avenue on April 25. Though there were numerous personal items inside the SUV, including bags of food and a suitcase, nothing appeared to be disturbed.

–A home air conditioner in the 1400 block of Red Bank Avenue was reported vandalized on April 25, though the damage could have occurred any time from early September through then. A repairman found the copper line that connected the air conditioner to the home snapped in two pieces, and all the coolant had leaked out of the unit.

–Someone attempted to steal a car parked in the 100 block of Morris Avenue, but left a screwdriver stuck in the damaged steering column. The car's speakers had their covers removed, as well, but the covers were on the floor, and nothing else appeared to be disturbed.
