Deptford Firefighters Arrested for Alleged Arson

Two volunteer firefighters allegedly set a home ablaze on Cattell Road on Jan. 25.

Two volunteer firefighters have been arrested in connection with an alleged January arson in Deptford, FOX29 reported Monday.

Michael Petrilak, 22, and Lewis Brooks, 19, were arrested on Feb. 3 after an investigation by Deptford police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office into a Jan. 25 fire at 1006 Cattell Road, near the Deptford Soccer Association's complex.

Both were charged with aggravated arson and conspiracy, and were lodged in the county jail on default of $50,000 full cash bail.

The fire broke out in the early morning hours on Jan. 25, gutting the home.
