Deptford Sex Offender Charged for Failure to Appear in Court

Jeffrey Thomas has a long history of community offenses and failures to cooperate with law enforcement.

The Fugitive Investigations Unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office
arrested Jeffrey S. Thomas, 47, of Deptford, for failing to appear in Superior Court on April 2 for a status conference on multiple charges of violating conditions of a special sentence, violating requirements of Community Supervision for Life as a sex offender and violating parole.

Thomas was taken into custody Monday at an Oak St. residence in
Woodbury. He was placed in jail without bail.

Assisting in the arrest was the U.S. Marshal’s Service Regional Fugitive Task
Force.

Thomas is charged with failing to reside at his parole-approved address, removing a GPS monitor he was required to wear to keep track of his whereabouts, using a controlled dangerous substance in violation of CSL, not submitting to a drug test and failing to report for a parole appointment in a March indictment.

Thomas became a Megan’s Law registrant and was placed on Community
Supervision for Life following 1999 sexual assault and narcotics convictions.
